Successful Entrepreneur Traits
Three Traits all Entrepreneurs Need to be Successful
Passion
Passion is important for any career but none more so than being an entrepreneur. You need to wholeheartedly believe in yourself and your product in order to make it. Passion is what’s going to keep you going when you’re working 90 hour weeks, having doors slammed in your face and being told “no” continuously.
You’ll feel like giving up but your passion simply won’t let you. You don’t need gobs of money to become an entrepreneur but you do need gobs of passion. You must believe in your product and mission when nobody else in the world will. It’s also important that you surround yourself with people who share that same passion and who will keep you motivated and remind you why you are doing what you do.
When you are passionate you will motivate those around you just by being who you are. They will see the passion in your eyes and in everything that you pour into the business and they will understand why you work so hard and they will be motivated to do the same and to not let you down. Passion is absolutely contagious.
Motivation
You’re going to need superior motivation to keep yourself getting out of bed and pounded the pavement each day, even when you may not be making nay money at all during the first few months of years of your business. Focus on your goal and stay motivated to reach it. You’ll see that as you reach goals, your motivation will evolve and change but will always burn bright.
When you are motivated, reaching goals can become addicting. You’re always striving to achieve the next goal and then the next goal, this is the kind of motivation that is absolutely necessary to make it as an entrepreneur. You’ve got to be motivated to take the leap into entrepreneurship and keep reaching for greater and greater.
When you are motivated you will motivate others around you to be the best they can be and put their best work in action. It’s also important that you are able to motivate others to buy into your idea or product. This can come into play when you are motivating investors to provide funding or motivating employees.
Persistence
It’s not easy becoming an entrepreneur. You’re going to get told no more times than you can count, people will spit on your ideas and even tell you that you are crazy. But if you are persistent, you will overcome these naysayers and obstacles.
You need thick skin to make it as an entrepreneur and to keep standing and pushing forward when people discourage you and push your ideas to the side, this is where persistence comes into play. No matter how many times people tell you no, keep going, keep adjusting your product and plans until you start hearing yes.
You need persistence to put in the long hours that are required to be an entrepreneur, especially when you are getting started. Keep a persistent mind and drive, even when things seem to be going downhill, keep persisting and keep your mind and eyes focused on the prize.
